This piece of jewellery is finished with a gold plating of 10 milliemes in 18-carat gold (75% fine gold). This represents a high-quality gold plating and is referred to in the jewellery trade as Doublé.
The finishing is carried out by a specialised electroplating company in Pforzheim, Germany, with whom we have worked closely for many years. First, a fine palladium layer is applied as a high-quality intermediate finish, followed by the gold plating. This creates an even, durable surface.
Compared with standard gold plating, this finish is distinguished by its higher gold content, high durability and warm, deep colour.
Shell Pearls—natural imitation with refined lustre
Shell pearls are made from natural mother-of-pearl, the inner material of mollusc shells. The core is based on this material and gives the pearls a weight comparable to natural pearls as well as a precise, uniform shape.
