Manufacturing Details:
High-Quality 18k Gold Plating (Doublé)
This piece of jewelry is finished with a 5 µm thick layer of 18k gold plating (75% pure gold). With this layer thickness, the plating is considered a high-quality finish and is referred to in the jewelry industry as doublé.
The finishing process is carried out by a specialized electroplating company in Pforzheim, Germany, with whom we have worked closely and trustfully for many years. First, a palladium layer is applied as a protective barrier layer, followed by the gold plating. This creates an even and durable surface.
Compared to standard gold plating, this finish is distinguished by its substantial layer thickness, high durability, and warm, deep color tone.
Glass Crystals with Precise Craftsmanship
The glass crystals used by Doll Up Sister come from a renowned Austrian manufacturer known for high-quality crystals with exceptional brilliance. The finely faceted crystals are characterized by clear light reflections, intense color depth, and a lively, even sparkle.
The crystals are produced according to high European manufacturing standards. For many years, this Austrian quality production has stood for precise craftsmanship, technical care, and an especially clear radiance.
Ornamental Metal Elements
This piece of jewelry contains ornamental metal elements that are still produced today by specialized manufacturers using original, mostly hand-engraved steel matrices and historical press tools. Many of the forms used by DOLL UP SISTER were created between approximately 1880 and 1960. A number of these ornaments were originally designed and produced for renowned Parisian fashion houses.
The production of such matrices was considered a highly specialized art of steel engraving: ornaments and reliefs had to be precisely cut by hand into hardened steel in reverse, as negative forms, and without any possibility of correction. The engraver was often also the pattern designer, developing ornamental motifs directly for jewelry and couture.
For Doll Up Sister, the elements of such specialized manufacturers are consciously researched and curated.
Base Alloys and Responsible Manufacturing
For this piece, components are sourced from a long-standing partner company in Germany. They are characterized by dimensional stability and precise workmanship.
The materials used are tested for harmful substances, including according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard. This standard stands for strictly controlled limits and independent testing procedures.
