High-quality 18-carat gold plating (Doublé)
This piece of jewellery is finished with a gold plating of 10 milliemes in 18-carat gold (75% fine gold). This represents a high-quality gold plating and is referred to in the jewellery sector as Doublé. The finishing is carried out by a specialised electroplating company in Pforzheim. First, the piece of jewellery receives a fine palladium layer as a high-quality intermediate finish. The gold plating is then applied. This creates an even, durable surface with a warm, deep colour.
Historic glass jewellery stones
The glass jewellery stones come from a small, traditional family-run manufacturer in Germany that continues a Bohemian glass and jewellery tradition to this day. The manufacturer's glass working tradition dates back to 1897. The stones are made using pressing tools, some of which have been used for generations. Many of these tools were originally hand-engraved and give the glass stones their characteristic depth and distinctive form.
Ornamental metal elements
The ornamental metal elements are produced by specialised manufacturers using original, mostly hand-engraved steel dies and historic pressing tools. Many of the forms used by Doll Up Sister were created between approximately 1880 and 1960. Numerous of these ornaments were designed and produced for major Parisian fashion houses, among others.
Due to varying screen settings, the colours of the original pieces may differ from those shown in the image. Please note that each of our pieces is handmade, so slight variations from the pictured model may occur.
Jewelry is not a toy, so improper use may cause small parts to detach and be swallowed.

Historical Glass Jewelry Stones
The historical glass jewellery stones come from a small, tradition-rich family manufactory in Germany that continues a Bohemian glass and Jewelry-making tradition to this day. The manufactory’s glass working heritage dates back to 1897. The stones are still produced using inherited press tools, some of which have been used for generations. Many of these tools were originally engraved by hand—particularly ornamental and floral relief patterns that give the glass stones their characteristic depth and distinctive visual language.
This evolved craft tradition, with its inherited tools and techniques, has become something truly special today. We are therefore especially grateful to work with a manufactory that continues to preserve this traditional form of glassmaking to this day.
High-Quality 18-Carat Gold Plating (Doublé)
This piece of jewellery is finished with a gold plating of 10 milliemes in 18-carat gold (75% fine gold). This represents a high-quality gold plating and is referred to in the jewellery trade as Doublé.
The finishing is carried out by a specialised electroplating company in Pforzheim, Germany, with whom we have worked closely for many years. First, a fine palladium layer is applied as a high-quality intermediate finish, followed by the gold plating. This creates an even, durable surface.
Compared with standard gold plating, this finish is distinguished by its higher gold content, high durability and warm, deep colour.
Ornamental Metal Elements
This piece of jewellery contains ornamental metal elements that are still produced today by specialised manufacturers using original hand-engraved steel matrices and historical press tools. Many of the forms used by Doll Up Sister were created between approximately 1880 and 1960. A number of these ornaments were originally designed and produced for renowned Parisian fashion houses.
The production of such matrices was considered a highly specialised art of steel engraving: ornaments and reliefs had to be precisely cut by hand into hardened steel in reverse, as negative forms, and without any possibility of correction. The engraver was often also the pattern designer, developing ornamental motifs directly for jewellery and couture.
For Doll Up Sister, the elements of such specialised manufacturers are consciously researched and curated.
