DOLL UP SISTER – From Vintage to Kawaii
In 2009, Sophia Kirsch-Wahl launched Doll Up Sister, a jewelry line that combines vintage charm with contemporary spirit. The focus is on intricately designed earrings, made with elements from historical steel embossing molds (1880–1960), inspired by the Victorian era and Art Nouveau. Each piece tells its own story – a tribute to the past, reinterpreted for the modern jewelry lover.
Finely embossed brass elements blend with precious gemstones, antique Bohemian glass beads, and hand-modeled figures, creating a unique mix of nostalgia and innovation. The playful Kawaii style, known for its lightness and whimsical aesthetics, gives each design a special magic. Particularly the Maiko Mouse, the iconic symbol of the collection, reflects this charm – and was awarded the prestigious Inhorgenta Award in 2011.
